It wasn’t the guy sitting on the bench making side glances her way that was making her hot; although considering how her pulse raced everytime she caught those sapphire blue eyes looking her over, maybe he was the reason for the rise in her body temperature. But as she felt the sun beating down on her through her straw fedora, she knew it was the culprit for making her blood boil.
She needed to get out of the city before she melted right out of her clothing. While losing all her clothing sounded wildly seductive, especially with Mr. Blue Eyes across the way, she decided looking like a drenched rate while doing so would not be sexy.
To keep her mind off the heat, she imagined herself in a cooler climate. Somewhere in the mountains where there was still snow at the summit. She’d wake-up early to watch the sunrise and breathe in the fresh mountain air. With endless cups of coffee in hand, she would do nothing but sit and feel the cool air on her skin and enjoy the view of the expansive mountain range. Once nighttime came, she would look up at stars, something she could never see in the city. Her mind wandered back to Mr. Blue Eyes. Maybe she wouldn’t go to the mountains alone.
She shook the fantasy out her head and slipped her sunglasses back on, concealing her final glance at the hottie.
It was a shame that he wasn’t the one. But a mind can play crazy tricks on a person, especially in the heat. It was a large city, but she knew the right one was out there somewhere in this concrete jungle.
