She wets her cotton round in micellar water and rubs it across her face. As she wipes her makeup off, she also takes her insecurities and battered self-esteem with it. She pumps a small amount of cleanser in her palm and gently rubs her hands together to create a lather. Then she rubs the gel on her face, gathering up the rest of the day’s grime: the constant anxiety of being late and messing up, the pressure to be perfect, the self-hate from not having the right body shape or clothes. She roughly rubs her face gathering all of that up and splashes her face with cold water, and watches it all go down the drain.
Now she puts on her face oil and moisturizer, and as she does so, she rubs confidence, acceptance, and forgiveness gently into her skin. Using a dap of eye cream, she pats in joy, honor, and love underneath her eyes. She finishes off with a lip balm and swipes some gratitude onto her lips.
All of her stress from the day has gone away. She looks in the mirror at the bare-faced girl looking back at her, and finally feels like herself for the first time that day.
Night Time Skincare Favorites:
Garnier Skin Active Micellar Cleansing Water: It’s a great inexpensive option that removes all of my makeup without irritating my skin or stinging my eyes.
Derma E Evenly Radiant Brightening Cleanser: A gentle cleanser that doesn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts. My skin looks a lot more glowy afterwards.
Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash: This face wash also has exfoliation beads in it, so it’s a 2-in-1 cleanser. I’ll use this cleanser every other day. It gently exfoliates without drying out my skin. It also has a lovely refreshing scent!
Acure Organics Rosehip Oil: This oil feels light on the skin and doesn’t break me out. It also helps heal my acne scars.
Derma E Evenly Radiant Night Creme: This moisturizer is very thick, so I only use it in the winter when my skin is more dry. I use a small amount and rub it on both my face and neck. The Derma E’s Brightening range is great for anyone who deals with hyperpigmentation!
Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate: Made with organic ingredients, this eye cream is great at moisturizing my under eye area, especially since that area tends to be drier than the rest of my face. It also helps with dark circles and fine lines.
Smith’s Minted Rose Lip Balm: A lovely scented lip balm that keeps my lips moisturized even on super cold days.
